The Wunderlich family was first listed living here in the 1880 New Albany City Directory. Mr. Wunderlich was the proprietor of the F. Wunderlich Company, wholesale whisky merchants and dealers in wines, liquors, ginger ale, etc. The company also manufactured the world-renowned 'Wunderlich's Aromatique Stomach Bitters.' The business was located on the northwest corner of Pearl and Spring streets in downtown New Albany. The house stayed in the family through the mid-1930s.
