John Antwein House
911 East Market Street
New Albany, IN 47150

Listing Description:
John Antwein purchased this lot in April of 1850, and had his home built shortly thereafter. The house stayed in the Antwein family through 1887, and during this time was also used as a saloon and boarding house. It continued to be used as a boarding house - and possibly even a bordello - under subsequent owners. A beauty parlor later occupied the structure, and eventually it was converted into apartments.
