Dr. Frank Wolfe had this house/office combination constructed in 1922 on the site of an earlier structure. In May 1935, Dr. Clarence Briscoe and his wife, Mollie, purchased the property and moved their residence and office practice here. He was a general medical practitioner for over 50 years in New Albany and was a former Floyd County Coroner and past president of the Floyd County Medical Society. Dr. Briscoe died in November 1959 and his widow remained in the home until shortly before her death in June 1968.
