Dr. Frank and Portia Wilcox House
418 East 11th Street
New Albany, IN 47150

Listing Description:
This home may have been constructed as early as 1865. By around 1890, Dr. Frank Wilcox and his wife, Portia, were living here. They remained until 1906, when they moved into Frank's family home, still standing at 1010 East Spring Street. He had already moved his physician's office to the family home prior to taking up residence there.

Several other residents followed the Wilcox family, including pharmacist Otto Falk and, later. Hettie Sowle.

The structure had fallen into disrepair and was vacant when contractor Cliff Duff purchased it in 2015. After undertaking a complete rehabilitation, he sold the house to the current owner in 2016. The project was awarded a 'Facelift Award' from the New Albany HPC in May 2018.
