This double house appears to have been constructed around 1860 for investment purposes, for Russell Smith. Smith sold the property in July 1886 for $1500 to the Franc/Franck/Frank family. It remained in that family until about 1920. The Craftsman-style front porch was likely added about that same time.

The photo below shows the home as it appeared in 1974. It was demolished in 2021.
