Built on the site of an earlier structure, this bungalow was constructed in 1933 for sisters Katherine and Anna Guthrie. Katherine was a retired employee of S.W. Newburger's White House Department Store, located on Pearl Street in downtown New Albany. Anna was a former sales lady for the Mary English Dry Goods Company, also located downtown.
