Listing Description:
Built in 1912 for veneer mogul Col. Eugene V. Knight, this house displays an American Foursquare form with Classical Revival details. E.V., as he was known, established one of the largest furniture veneering (plywood) manufacturing plants in the nation, the New Albany Veneering Company. One of Col. Knight's biggest contracts was with a Chicago company, supplying radio cabinets for numerous models of Majestic radios. The Knight family resided here until their million-dollar estate Greystone Gables was completed in Silver Hills in 1929.
