This house was constructed for Charles W. Inman around 1902. Mr. Inman was president of Col. E. V. Knight's New Albany Veneering Company, located at East 13th Street and the river. By 1915, the house was home to the Herman H. Borgerding family. Mr. Borgerding was president and treasurer of the Borgerding Motor Car Co., located at 411 East Spring Street in the downtown.
