Updated design guidelines adopted Monday April 21, 2025 At its April 16 meeting, the New Albany HPC adpoted a revised set of design guidelines for work in the historic districts. These guidelines offer best practices for property owners planning work on their buildings, and also are used by the HPC as the basis of their decisions when Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) applications are being reviewed.
Developed and discussed by the HPC over the past year, the updated document replaces the original guidelines, which were adopted in January 2004. A new section on alternative energy has been added, as well as updates to reflect new technologies and materials. The full guidelines are available on the 'Resources' page of this website. Comments
